This series is tailored to the expectant couple and is designed to provide instruction and information about the labor process, positioning and relaxation techniques, as well as pain management options. Other topics discussed include birth planning, interventions and complications, and postpartum adjustment and recovery.
Stem Cell Seminar: 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

This seminar is dedicated to providing information and answering questions on the benefits of umbilical cord blood banking. Learn about cord blood stem cells (the body’s “master cells”) as well as their current and future medical applications. Learn how to take advantage of that 15-minute window of opportunity to provide a future for your family and your baby.
Breastfeeding Basics: 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

This class is designed to promote a successful breastfeeding relationship between mother and baby. Topics covered include preparation for breastfeeding, special instructions for getting started after the birth, proper positioning and latch-on techniques as well as common obstacles and remedies. We will also discuss special circumstances such as returning to work while continuing to breastfeed.
Baby Care Basics: 7:00-9:00

This class provides expectant and new parents the basics of newborn care. Learn about newborn behavior, temperament and personality, crying and calming, growth and development. Tried and true techniques for feeding, diapering, bathing and sleeping will all be discussed. You will also learn valuable tips on what is common for the newborn and when to call the doctor.
Infant Safety & Baby proofing: 2:00-4:00

This class teaches expectant or experienced parents about preventing the most common injuries in infants and children. Topics covered include SIDS prevention, poisoning prevention, pool safety, car seat safety, injury prevention while traveling and more. Participants also learn basic first aid and how to manage illness and injury in an infant or child.
