Children's Charity Helps Families Thru Holidays

The Child Abuse Prevention Center launches Families Helping Families Program

ORANGE, CA, November 7, 2008 The Child Abuse Prevention Center is launching its annual Families Helping Families program this holiday season. The focus of Families Helping Families is to connect Prevention Center clients who are at risk for child abuse with community resources for holidays gifts and meals.

Each year, the Prevention Center encourages the Orange County community to open their hearts and give to those who are less fortunate. Last year, over 320 client families were adopted, while 150 holiday meals were provided. Additionally, more than $80,000 was raised, allowing the Prevention Center to provided services to 32 new families for a year.

“Nothing makes the holidays like spending time together as a healthy and positive family. Our Families Helping Families program is crucial to our clients’ well-being, by reducing the every day stress associated with this time of year and giving them hope for the holidays,” comments Child Abuse Prevention Center Executive Director, Scott Trotter
