2005: "Now in its 27th year of operation, STOP-GAP's mission is to use theatre therapeutically and educationally to inspire positive change in individual lives.
In order to do this, STOP-GAP performs specially devised plays (1,000/yr) and workshops (500/yr) in classrooms, educational centers, hospitals and shelters throughout Los Angeles and Orange County , reaching between 45,000 and 50,000 people every year. Each presentation is between 45 and 50 minutes in length and is designed using the STOP-GAP Method of interactive theatre.
The STOP-GAP Method is founded in the deep belief that participants hold the answer to life's challenges within; if they can be inspired to reflect on their experience and reach into their hearts, they will readily identify perceptive and appropriate paths to follow to ensure meaningful and productive lives.
STOP-GAP has a company of 20 actors and facilitators, trained and experienced in the delivery of programs. Many in the company have bilingual capability and we have the capacity to deliver programs in English/Spanish where necessary."
