"You have just arrived at the site of one of the largest and most beautiful community colleges in the United States. We welcome you and invite you to browse Orange Coast College--a place of excellent programs, distinguished faculty and outstanding student leadership. Founded in 1948, Orange Coast is the college of choice for over 28,000 students a year. Our expansive, uniquely designed campus is at the heart of a community featuring world-class educational institutions, a robust economy, an abundance of artistic and cultural events, miles of sunny beaches and the beautiful Pacific Ocean.
Orange Coast is well known for rigorously preparing students for successful transfer to the University of California, California State University, and other four-year colleges and universities. In fact, each year we transfer more students to UC and CSU than any other community college in southern California. We invite you to be one of Orange Coast College's successful transfer students. Take a look at our professional-technical degree and certificate programs. There are over 80 career options from which you can choose. Orange Coast students regularly win local, state, regional and national awards in skill competitions. Their achievements directly reflect the quality of our programs and the talent and expertise of our faculty.
From football to badminton, Orange Coast's athletic program is strong, with 24 competitive sports and numerous championships to our credit. OCC has won the Orange Empire Conference Sports Supremacy Award more times than any other college in the conference. The Orange Coast College School of Sailing and Seamanship on Newport Bay serves as the base for our men and women's intercollegiate crew teams and offers the largest public sailing program on the west coast.
You will find OCC well "wired" to serve new learning technologies. The John R. Clark Computer Center houses over 300 student workstations. Across campus, in other specialty labs, more than 2000 computer stations are available to students and many classrooms and lecture halls are equipped for multi-media presentations."
