ABC Golden Retrievers

Breeder, All-Breed Training, Boarding. Responsible breeder: spays or neuters before delivery. (Thank you). "ABC Puppy Training has over twenty years of experience in training all breeds of dogs. We offer several different programs to suit the needs of each individual dog. We specialize in turning puppies into well mannered family members that can be trusted off leash, but we also have a lot of experience with helping to rehabilitate dogs with behavior problems that other trainers have been unable to solve. Our gentle methods are effective on all sizes of dogs, and because we don't use physical force we can start training puppies at eight weeks of age. Our professional trainers will be happy to speak to you over the phone to discuss your dog's behavior problems. We offer free consultations and have excellent references.... ABC Puppy Training offers a boarding situation like no other. Your dog will live with us in our home, and be treated like one of our own pets (and we spoil our pets!). Your dog will enjoy lots of personal attention and affection."

Along with being a great dog trainer Lisa also trains horses and is a therapeutic riding instructor for children and adults with disabilities. In high school and college Lisa enjoyed many sports, her favorite one being gymnastics. Lisa’s gymnastic ability and love of teaching allowed her to help others learn this difficult skill as she worked her way through college. As a graduate student, Lisa served for a number of years as a teaching assistant for both lecture and laboratory science courses."
Bed-n-Bones Dog Ranch

Bed n Bones Dog Ranch is located in beautiful San Juan Capistrano. We are less than 2 minutes from the Junipero Serra exit off the 5 freeway and 73 toll road. Bed n Bones is one of the only facilities in Orange County where dogs can be outside running and playing not cooped up in a warehouse or cage. We believe dogs should not spend their days in a cage. Our dogs enjoy a property filled with giant eucalyptus trees, watching wildlife, running and playing. Each dog is fed and sleeps in their own area where they are able to see their friends. We place each dog near a dog they liked during the day. The dogs are tired from a day of playing and sleep quietly with their friends around them. Our dogs are our best testimonials. Most dogs know they are coming to the ranch as soon as they get off the freeway. You will be amazed to see how excited your dog will be when he comes back again and again to Bed n Bones. Your dog will have his own vacation and give you peace of mind while you enjoy yours!!!  San Juan Capistrano

Crossroads Pet Resort

Dog Boarding, Training, Day Care & Grooming. "Daniel Tambourine is the owner of Crossroads and the head of 'Best Behavior' training program. He has over twenty-five years of training experience ranging from dogs and cats to wolves, bears and other exotics, but he specializes in dogs and cases involving aggression and/or fears. Dan is a member of many behavior and training organizations, including the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), Delta Society, Animal Behavior Society and the Association of Behavior Analysts. Further, he regularly consults with the top national and international behaviorists and trainers to stay abreast of the latest, most advanced techniques.... Our 'Best Behavior' trainers are experts in dog behavior. They study with top professionals to stay up-to-date on studies and techniques and actively participate in the APDT. Their focus is to help owners avert behavior problems through proper training using reward-based method that are fun and effective for both people and dogs. Our trainers go through an extensive training under Dan's guidance, meeting weekly to ensure that their methods are consistent and Dan's high standards maintained. In addition, several of our trainers are certified through the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT). Until the APDT created the Certification Council for Pet Dog Trainers in 2001, there was no true standardized certification process for dog trainers. There are many schools that teach dog training and offer their own certification for their specific program, but such certificates often reflect the teaching and quality of the specific school and many are attained through unmonitored, take-home tests. The Certification Council for Pet Dog Trainers is a true certification entity pursuing accreditation from the National Organization for Competency Assurance."  Stanton

Gone to the Dogs Training

Steve Estrada: "'Gone to the Dogs' is a privately owned and operated business. It began in 1982, by Steve Estrada.... Fortunately, I was guided to Jean-Claude Balu's school in Fontana, California. Jean-Claude is a task master with years of experience working with service dogs and being a Schutzhund Trial Judge with the D.V.G. (Deutscher Verband der Gebrauchshundsportvereine) as well as a fierce competitor. He taught about training through the use of canine psychology; not method training, which can only serve a few. I was also introduced to Imprinting in puppies and how to redirect aggression. But most importantly, how to read and understand behavior. I also worked for both private and commercial kennels, allowing me to experience many breeds including working with numerous rare breeds. I've experienced breeding, whelping and training a number of different breeds; working with all types of behavior. One thing that has always stuck with me is the best way to learn about dogs is to handle and experience everyone you are able.... I've been a member of U.S.A. (United Schutzhund Clubs of America); and the U.S.R.C. (United States Rottweiler Club). Also a previous office holder in both National and Regional dog clubs. I've been a Schutzhund Trial decoy and past Training Director for Heart Therapy Dogs International. I have been a guest speaker for many dog clubs, schools and television. I have been working full time at this profession twenty plus years and now reside in a bit of paradise in historical San Juan Capistrano.... I work with 'Charities Best', a local group that supports local charities. I am also past Docent at the Mission San Juan Capistrano and worked as a volunteer in the history and archives. I've also worked with A.R.F. (Animal Rescue Foundation of Dana Point) and F.O.S.C.A. (Friends of San Clemente Animal Shelter) CARE Capistrano Animal Rescue Effort as a consultant.... My training covers South Orange County from Newport Beach to Coto de Caza to Oceanside. I am also available for telephonic or e-mail consultations."  San Juan Capistrano
