The Beckman Young Investigators (BYI) Program is intended to provide research support to the most promising young faculty members in the early stages of academic careers in the chemical and life sciences.... Established in 1997, The Beckman Scholars Program is an invited program for accredited universities and four-year colleges in the United States. "The Golden West College Foundation, established in 1985, is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to supporting Golden West College's mission of providing comprehensive academic opportunities. The Foundation is a vehicle for accepting private gifts, donations and bequests to provide funding for institutional accomplishments that are not funded through public funds. Individuals and businesses are invited to share in the educational vision of Golden West College and the enhancement of the quality of life in the community. Each auxiliary is managed by its own board and officers and requires membership dues for its operational expenses. Membership is open to the public."  Huntington Beach
Mensa - Orange County Chapter

"What does Orange County Mensa really do? Mostly, we share with each other. We do this through monthly open houses and other social activities, and through monthly newsletters. We love thinking and learning new things, so when we can, we'll get speakers on any ol' topic - constitutional law, developments in genetics, you name it - and spend the evening expanding our minds. Our Speaker's Forums are open to the public. Maybe even before the Internet had them, Mensa had its 'Special Interest Groups' (SIGs). A lot of the events posted in the calendar are SIG activities: SIG interests can range completely all the way from the ridiculous to the sublime. Eight Ball? Blood donors? Classical music? Orange County Mensa has them. Mensa holds many 'Regional Gatherings' through the year, weekends where we'll convene at some hotel or other and spend the weekend doing what we enjoy most, sharing and learning (and eating and drinking and playing games and going to parties and...). In Orange County, we generally hold ours sometime in August. It's our group's big event of the year. We support gifted children programs, education in general, and through the national group, research into the phenomenon of human intelligence." Regular meetings include: 1st Wednesday 8-Ball Brigade - A happy hour where some (but not necessarily all) play pool. Meets first Wednesday of the month (except holidays) at Danny K's in Orange. 1st Friday Beerhunters - A movable beer feast. We visit a different brewpub on the 1st Friday of each month. Socializing, eating & drinking. 2nd Friday Happy Hour - Actually does meet on the 2nd Friday. Socializing, eating & drinking with friendly and distinguished group. 2nd Saturday Good Movies - We see "art films." We decide on the movie in front of the theater. After, we get a bite to eat, and share impressions. 3rd Friday at Hollingshead's - Actually does meet on the 3rd Friday. Socializing, eating & drinking at friendly neighborhood joint."

Today, with annual employer contributions totaling more than $35,000,000, UABT upholds its reputation within the agribusiness community as providing the most affordable health and welfare benefit plans for its participating United Agribusiness League members.
