Orchestras in Orange County, California

Capistrano Valley Symphony
" The Symphony was founded in 1984 by the late Donn Lawrence Mills, a noted conductor, composer, author, and the music director of a number of orchestras in the United States and Canada. He served as Music Director for Chapman University. Since its debut, the Symphony has worked to provide the South Orange County communities exciting musical programs at a variety of venues, both indoors and out. These have ranged from public park facilities to local playhouses and hotel ballrooms. The performances vary from our 'Riviera Pops' series to chamber music and includes special event programs on the 4th of July and during the winter holiday season. The Symphony serves an area with a population of a million people living in communities from Newport Beach and Tustin to San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano. It has performed for over 100,000 people to date. The education programs include free in-school concerts for fourth, fifth, and sixth grade children. Teacher guides and classroom materials developed with the Orange County School Districts are made available prior to the concerts and the children are bussed to the performances at one of the local schools. Over 20,000 students have experienced the live sound of a full symphony orchestra in this program." Holds a Sunday evening series during the summer at Mission San Juan Capistrano.  Dana Point
Mozart Classical Orchestra
"We believe that chamber orchestra music is an integral part of a major art form, enriching and illuminating the human experience. It was to provide the citizens of our community with this art and to make a contribution to classical music in America that we founded the Mozart Classical Orchestra. We believe the needs of the community to be best served by the professional nonprofit resident chamber orchestra. As such, the Mozart Classical Orchestra is dedicated to bringing quality performances of chamber orchestra works from the classical repertoire to the people of Southern California. Since its inaugural season in 1985, the Mozart Classical Orchestra has garnered the highest public praise for its performance standards, for the quality of its guest soloists, and for the intelligence with which its programs are chosen. Under the leadership of its Founding Music Director, Ami Porat, the Mozart Classical Orchestra continues to perform a unique combination of rarely-heard works and mainstays of the orchestral repertoire. The Mozart Classical Orchestra has maintained its main concert venue at the acoustically excellent Irvine Barclay Theatre since it opened in 1990."  Irvine
Pacific Symphony Orchestra
The Pacific Symphony Orchestra is a world-class symphony that makes the Orange County Performing Arts Center its home. If you like classical music, you needn't drive to LA! Also performs regularly at Barclay Theatre and Irvine Meadows.
