Long Beach Celtic Festival

Appears to be defunct, but if anyone has information to share, please send it to webmaster@killerorange.com. "The high costs asscociated with producing the annual Long Beach Celtic Music Festival by-the-sea have necessitated that I find a new venue. The costs keep getting higher as the City Of Long Beach requires firemen and policemen be on site that I pay overtime along with eight security guards at a festival that may never have had an argument let alone a fight. The festival vendors pay one of the highest permit fees of any city that taxes the vendors. Huge expenses for canopies,, tables, chairs, stages, dance floors, fencing, porta-potties, hand sinks and lack of suitable parking have forced the idea to find a more affordable and suitable venue for everyone. The venues I am looking for will have a stage, shaded seating, bathrooms and more and accomodate about 1200 to 1500 people which is the number we have attracted to the festival. When the all the numbers add up to where I can continue to bring in the finest Celtic musicians in the world it will be a win win for everyone. The 2004 festival with Gaelic Storm, Wicked Tinkers, Wolfstone, Celtic Spring, Ken O'Malley, Banshee In The Kitchen, Everything Celtic along with Drummond Ranch's sheep herding demos, Queen Medb Ancient Celtic Re-Enactment, George The Giant and excellent vendors was extremely well received according to the surveys. Paddy Doyle's Boots put on a tremendous show Saturday night on the Queen Mary."  Long Beach
