Garden Grove Strawberry Festival

"The Strawberry Festival over the years has evolved into a variety of Commercial booths, Arts and Crafts, Game Booths, Food Booths and major Carnival Rides which dot the landscape of the Village Green, located between Euclid Avenue and Main Street, two blocks north of Garden Grove Boulevard. The Strawberry Festival Amphitheater, located at the South End of the Village Green, which was built for the city by funds raised by the Association, provides a charming venue for the many stage shows featuring celebrity and local performers. The largest Strawberry Shortcake is devoured by hungry fairgoers on opening night. The Strawberry Festival is always held Memorial Day weekend. A parade highlights Saturday’s festivities as it winds its way to the Festival grounds. The Strawberry Festival has raised over $4.2 million for local organizations, including the Police and Fire Departments, Boys and Girls Club, Acacia Day Care Center for the frail elderly, The Assistance League and many others. In addition, local service, fraternal, school, and church groups raise thousands more each year."  Garden Grove

Volcom SkatePark

"The Volcom skatepark is a private training facility for our team and friends to skate on a regular basis. This is the second skatepark at Volcom. We tore down the 1st park in February in order to move into a new warehouse. The new park took 6 weeks to build and is significantly better than its predecessor. The new park was unveiled to the public at the world premiere of Chichagof back in May. It features a 12 and half foot vert bowl, with 14 foot extensions, a smaller 4 and 5 foot bowl that spills into the street course, a step up gap, and several banks, boxes, rails, and hips. Though the park is private, there are events every so often that allow anyone to skate it. The park will play host to the Damn Am vert contest as well as Volcom's Wild in the Parks contest series. So keep your eyes and ears peeled, and your chance will come to skate the stomping ground of the Volcom skate team. Use the live web cams below to check out the action."
